On August 4, 2010, there was a memorial ceremony for the Holocaust victims of Rhodes. The ceremony was held at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem and is coordinated by the Heritage of the Jews of Rhodes organization in Israel. Samuel Modiano, a Holocaust survivor who actively promotes awareness of the Shoa, was one of the participants in this special memorial event along with others.
