Alan "Al" Benoliel


Al Benoliel was buried at the Seattle Sephardic Brotherhood on July 11, 2025.

Al is survived by his sons Jeff (Jennifer), and Michael (Rinah) Benoliel. Al is also survived by his brothers Rabbi Haim (Anita), David (Victoria), Joel (Maureen) and sister Judy (Rabbi Hillel A”H) Belsky.

Al is also survived by his loving grandchildren Rachel (Jacob), Andrew, Al (Estee), Anna and Joe.

February 5, 1941 -July 9, 2025

Born in Seattle to Joseph Benoliel and Rachel (Maimon) Benoliel. Pre-deceased by his dear wife of 42 years, Deanna(Schneiderman) Benoliel and more recently by his longtime partner, Barbara Calvo.

Al was a pillar in the Seattle Sephardic community and was immensely proud of his heritage and culture. Known for his generosity and genuine connection with a vast network of family and friends, Al had varied careers with a common thread of the ability to make meaning ful, life long relationships. In retirement, Al was a gifted artisan who shared his creations with many. He will be deeply missed.

Survived by sons Jeffrey (Jennifer) and Michael (Rinah), brothers Haim (Anita), David (Victoria), Joel (Maureen) and sister Dr.

Judith (Hillel, of blessed memory) Belsky, cherished grandchildren Rachel (Jacob) Hanan, Andrew, Al (Estee), Anna, Joe, and by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on July 11th at the Seattle Sephardic Brotherhood Cemetery.

Remembrances may be made to one of the many organizations he supported including: Sephardic Bikur Holim, Chabad of the Central Cascades, Kline Galland Home.
