My father and mother, Liv and Katie Franco used to take us to Rhodes when we were growing up in Italy every summer. We have not been back since my dad died and miss coming to visit it very much. Now that you dear Lucia you are no longer there to be the custodian angel of the Kahal a big void will be felt, Que tu alma repose en Ganeden.

Rest in Peace Lucia. We hadn’t seen you in a while but we have always been very close to you. We will never forget the time spent together in Rhodes; how close you were to my parents and how you prepared our wedding at the Synagogue; the first after World War 2. I met Lucia Sulam when I visited Rhodes in 1979 and I had no idea she was still alive up to so recently. She was a lovely person. I have no doubts she was very well received by the All-Mighty.

My parents are from Rhodes. My father, Roberto Cohen, died in Israel 12/1970 his parents are Joseph and Diamente. My Mother, Matilda Menache, died in Israel 27/1/2010 her parents are Behor and Rochell. Would like to receive the “Rhodesli Jewish Calender”. Thanks
